Add the
diskimagekitpackage for RAW and ASIF images, including overlay and cache layers. Callers can create images, build stacks withOpen,Append, andCreateLayer, and read or write them throughio.ReaderAtandio.WriterAt.The package handles image storage in Go.
SyncandCloseare explicit, and a stack owns the files it opens. Internal comments explain ASIF directory updates, block inheritance, and file replacement where the ordering matters.New ASIF images are limited to 4 PiB minus 1 MiB. Growth into metadata and layer creation over a file already owned by the stack are rejected.
Syncreports storage errors; it does not guarantee recovery from power loss.NBD export is an internal package in #278. The native attachment wrapper remains in #276.
Related to #224.
